Change...

Recently, my friends moved away. I've known them for about 2 years. Being a military brat, I'm pretty accustom to moving around ever year or so. I've been lucky these past few years. They just moved back to the base I was born at. I like it there, it's not my favorite place I've lived. They have the sweetest baby sister, and she just turned 1 on the 23! It's going to be a big change not to go watch movies at there house on Friday nights. Who are we gonna go to "the target" with? I'm gonna miss them alot.

I'm okay with change. I've been to more schools than most person will in a life time. I've met people from all over the world and who speak many different languages. I've been all up and down the East coast and now around the Mid-west.

People at track, or swimming meets ask me what its like to be a military brat and do I like it. I always say the same thing. I don't know anything other than this. This is my life. I haven't had the same friends since kindergarten. I haven't lived in one house my whole life. I won't go to school in the same town for my education. My life is so much more than that.

For example:

  1. I went to the first semester of 2nd grade and one school and then switched to a school in a different state. (That's one of many times I've done that.)
  2. I've been to 4 elementary schools, 1 intermediate school and 1 junior high. (Since kindergarten or 1st grade
  3. I've cheered for multiple minor and major baseball teams.
  4. I've cheered for many different college and national football teams.
  5. I have enough postcards from any where and everywhere to fill a shoe box.
  6. I will start a conversation with just about anyone now, I am fearless.
  7. I've had so many best friends it's hard to remember at what base we were friends at.
  8. I've lived at the same base 3 non-consecutive times.
You say your living large, try my shoes on for size.
