Back to School 101: Clothes

Today consisted of 3 things: drawing, shopping, and being sick. I have had a lingering sore throat for the past  4 days now. When I went to patient first they said nothing was wrong! Well.....I'd like for them to know that a sore throat should not last for 4 days.

As you all very well know school starts very soon for me. I always seen to have major dilemmas with clothing. Not that I don't have enough. Trust me I do. It's that I am very good at coming up with an image and I am very picky.  Not that I'm not me. I'm always me, it's just the way that people perceive me. This year I want to be that girl that walks by and you think...."Wow, I love those colors!" Or "Wow, I love that! And maybe even..."Where did she get that? I need that!"

Where did I get these colorful threads. You can find these at Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Hollisters. The best part is we didn't pay full price for any of it! I also have two pairs of toms that I didn't want to put on top of my new clothes.

How would I wear these unique piece?

  • A navy striped T-Shirt is a must have piece for any collection. White will match anything. Although we are only teens, horizontal stripes also help to give the illusion of a petite figure. It is also cut right where low rise jeans are cut so while not exposing stomach it is "short"
  • A collared shirt is a must. Whether you need a nice shirt for a school concert or for a nice dinner with family a collared shirt is easy to pair with khakis or black pants. I find navy an easy color to wear.
  • I also got a blue strapless polka dot dress. I plan on wearing this with my jean jacket and a nice pair of flats. You can also dress it up with a pretty necklace or dress it down with a white button up shirt and converse.
  • A neon green hoodie is a great way to add color to a simple pair of jeans. You can even wear a pair of skinny jeans that are the same shade of blue. I also purchased a pair of jeans that same shade. It can also be worn with shorts if you are cold. The sleeves can also be pushed up to 3/4 to accent bracelets or nails.
  • Jeans come in many colors and are used to keep your legs warm in the winter or fall. They can be cuffed, ripped, died, bleached, and embroidered. I plan on perhaps cuffing them.
  • A light yellow jacket can brighten a pair of black skinny jeans or jeggings. The jacket its self is light and can be kept in a locker an used in the fall or spring when a jacket is needed for cold classrooms.
  • Toms is a trendy little brand. It takes part in the One for One movement. When you buy a pair a pair is also donated to a child in need. They are available in many shades and can be ordered in the original       design, flats, or high-heels. I own 2 of the original designs in 2 fairly new prints.
