Dr.Seuss

Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.
Dr. Seuss
Happy Birthday Dr.Seuss! This year Dr.Seuss would be turning 108. A movie based on his book The Lorax came out today. The movie featured the voices of Taylor Swift, and Zac Efron. It is rated PG. If you go see it, comment reviewing the movie.

Today in English we discussed his book The Sneetches. The book is actually referring to the holocaust. The "star" belly snetches are a symbol of the Jews. Sylvester McMonkey McBean is supposed to be Hilter. In the story the star belly sneetches are the "incrowd". The sneetches with out stars are in turn left out. When McBean comes into town he says, if you give me $3 I will have a star put on you. All of the sneetches take him up on his deal and pay the $3. This then makes all of the sneetches the same. Then no one know who is who, so the clever McBean offers $3 to get your star taken off. Then of corse the sneetches without stars are the "incrowd". This cycle continues
"until neither the Plain nor the Star-Bellies knew
whether this one was that one... or that one was this one
or which one was what one... or what one was who."
After McBean leaves the sneetches learn they are all the same on matter what they look like. This is inturn like the holocaust. Hilter came into power and said, if you are a jew you have no power. The idea "supreme race" was the "incrowd". Once Hitler is over thrown the people then learn they are all alike.

Dr.Seuss began writing political cartoons, such as Private Snafu The Goldbrick. He also wrote storys about political issues.

Wow that was alot to learn about in a shortened class. It was a weird conversation but I learned something new.
