I survived my 1st 13-14 swim meet! I have recently aged up to the 13-14 age category, and for a swimmer I'm not quite as tall as many of my teammates. I swam in a total of 7 events and dropped time in 6. This was a team placement meet, meaning the team who had the most time drops got the title and the trophy. My best swim was my last. Go figure! It was the 200 IM which is a combination of all four strokes. The order is butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. It tests turns and stroke efficiently. I entered with a time of 3:10.76 and finished with a time of 2:46.06. A drop of nearly 30 seconds. I give my credit to my coaches because without them I wouldn't have known how much I love swimming and how much I love to compete. I don't know how I placed but it was my first 13-14 meet and there is still plenty of room to improve. Thanks to my mom who drove me to the meet and sat at the pool all day, and then the hotel pool once the meet was over on Saturday. Finally, I would like to congratulate my fellow teammates who also swam in the meet this weekend.
